Improvements and fixes
This update includes quality improvements without introducing any new operating system features. Key changes are as follows:
- Resolves an issue that prevents the correct setting of the LmCompatibilityLevel value, which specifies the authentication mode and session security.
- Fixes an issue that may prevent applications using a Microsoft Jet database with the Microsoft Access 97 file format from opening if the database has column names greater than 32 characters, causing the error “Unrecognized Database Format.”
- Addresses an issue where Microsoft Edge fails to load webpages using a local IP address or a VPN connection.
- Fixes an issue that causes Windows Hello for Business Hybrid Key Trust deployment sign-in to fail if Windows 2019 Server domain controllers are used for authentication, with the error message “That option is temporarily unavailable. For now, please use a different method to sign in.” If Active Directory activity tracing is enabled, a Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) exception may occur when processing a user’s sign-in.
- Note: Active Directory Data Collector Set and Microsoft Azure Advanced Threat Protection (AATP) enable Active Directory activity tracing by default.
- Resolves an issue in Microsoft HoloLens that allows users to bypass the lock screen sign-in process in certain workflows.
Additionally, security updates are provided for Microsoft Scripting Engine, Microsoft Edge, Windows Server, Microsoft JET Database Engine, Internet Explorer, Windows Wireless Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Graphics, and Windows App Platform and Frameworks.
